Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences & Research

Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research (SSIPSR) was established in 2019 and since its first step, it continued to remain one of the best Pharmacy colleges in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh. The institute is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). It is affiliated with Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekananda Technical University (CSVTU), Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, till 2025. Additionally, in 2023 it became a constituent college under Shri Shankaracharya Professional University (SSPU), Bhilai.

SIPSR has large numbers of highly qualified faculty members to deliver curriculum that aims at development of courses and programs based on both academic and industrial inputs. Every year, the institute witnessed large numbers of merit holders in B Pharmacy and D Pharmacy.

About the Director - Dr. Hemant Badwaik

Dr. Hemant Badwaik is presently working as a Director in Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research, Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, India. He has 16 years of teaching experience to undergraduate and post graduate level in Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and other related subjects. Dr. Badwaik has more than60 scientific publications with 8 patents in his credit. He has also written 11 Text book and 13 book chapters. His research interests were synthesis and screening (in silico and pharmacological) of novel organic molecules, modification of natural polymers by conventional and microwave assisted techniques and Drug Delivery. Dr. Hemant Badwaik is Editorial Board Member of Combinatorial Chemistry and High Throughput Screening (Bentham Science). Dr. Hemant Badwaik is also a recipient of the Young Scientist Award in 15th Chhattisgarh Young Scientist Congress 2017 in Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Pharmacists as an integral part of the health care system. It is an important link between patients, medicine, and physician, He is an expert in reading and understanding the prescription of drugs their doses, side effects, adverse effects, and counter-reactions with other medications, without a pharmacist the health system cannot be run smoothly. Our aim at imparting quality pharmacy education and programs to our students and forging the youth into a formidable force to cater to the need of the nation’s Health for All”.

Along with the regular syllabus prescribed by the University, our highly qualified, experienced, and devoted staff trains the students not only to excel in academics but also in other activities. Admission Requirements and Process

Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm)

• The course of the study of Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm) 1st & 2nd year (2 years course) will include the respective theory and practical subjects.
• Duration: 2 Years.
• Annual Intake: 60 Seats.
• Eligibility: For Admission in D. Pharm students should pass 10th and 12th with Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Maths as compulsory subject.
• Affilated & Approved: Affilated to Shri Shankaracharya Professional University, Bhilai (C.G.) & Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi.
• Fee Structure: As per the university norms.
• Entrance Exam: It is mandatory to qualify the university entrance exam or may be direct admission.

Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm)

• The course of the study of Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) 1st to 8th Sem (4-year Course) will include the respective theory and practical subjects.
• Duration: 4 Years.
• Annual Intake: 100 Seats.
• Eligibility: For admission in B. Pharm students should pass 45% in 12th with Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Maths as compulsory subject. For Reserve – Pass in 10+2 with 40% in PCB / PCM
• Affilated & Approved: Affilated to Shri Shankaracharya Professional University, Bhilai (C.G.) & Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi.
• Fee Structure: As per the university norms.
• Entrance Exam: It is mendatory to qualify the university entrance exam or may be direct admission.
• Diploma in Pharmacy holders with minimum 50% is also eligible for Direct Entrance in second year of B. Pharm Course

Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm)

• The course of the study of Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm) 1st to 4th Sem (2 years Course) will include the respective theory and seminar subjects.
• Duration: 2 Years.
• Annual Intake: 15 Seats.
• Eligibility: B. Pharm 50% (45% for SC / ST ) with GPAT Prefered / Direct Admission
• Affilated & Approved: Affilated to Shri Shankaracharya Professional University, Bhilai (C.G.) & Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi.

• Entrance Exam:  GPAT Score Card Prefered / Direct Admission.

Doctor of Pharmacy (Ph.D)

• The number of seats available for admission to Ph.D programme will be notified at University Portal and will depend on number of supervisors available in the institute.
• Annual Intake: As per Seat Vacant
• Eligibility: For admission to Ph.D programme, university organize an entrance examination. National level examination (GATE / GPAT / NET) qualified exempted from entrance exam.
